It appears that another piece of the Toronto Argonauts’ coaching staff has fallen into place.
Earlier this week, Colyn Haugh, head coach of Kiski Area High School in Leechburg, Penn., announced his resignation on social media, stating that he had accepted a position with the Argos. It is unclear what position he will have on the staff or which side of the ball he will coach.
Haugh has a pre-existing relationship with newly hired Argos’ head coach Mike Miller, who served as the defensive line coach at Robert Morris University in 2006. Haugh was a senior for the Colonials that season, recording 48 tackles, eight tackles for loss, five sacks, and a blocked kick to earn second-team all-conference honours.
The native of Murrysville, Penn., began his coaching career the following year as a graduate assistant and later took the reins as defensive line coach. In 2010, he was hired in the same role at Saint Francis University and remained there for five seasons before moving to the offensive side of the ball at Westminster College, where he coached the offensive line for five years. In 2018, he was reunited with Miller when he became the Titans’ defensive coordinator and defensive line coach.
Haugh was promoted to defensive coordinator and associate head coach for the Titans in 2019, as Miller transitioned into the role of an offensive consultant. In 2022, he flipped back to become the offensive coordinator and offensive line coach, before joining Pennsylvania Western University Edinboro as the offensive line coach and run game coordinator in 2024.
After taking over at Kiski Area in 2025, Haugh led the team to a 4-7 record and lost in the first round of the playoffs.
Miller was promoted to head coach by the Argonauts on December 2 after previously serving as quarterbacks coach. He will serve as his own offensive coordinator and is expected to announce Greg Quick as the team’s defensive coordinator, though the rest of his staff has yet to be reported.
The Argonauts finished third in the East Division standings in 2025 with a 5-13 record, missing the playoffs for the first time since 2019. Chad Kelly was unable to play all season due to a fractured leg he suffered in the East Final in 2024. Nick Arbuckle threw for 4,370 yards, 26 touchdowns, and 15 interceptions to be named the team’s Most Outstanding Player.
Toronto ranked seventh in net offence, sixth in net defence, and seventh with a turnover differential of minus-eight. The team’s leading rusher was Spencer Brown with 314 yards, the leading receiver was Dejon Brissett with 907 yards, and the leading tackler was Cameron Judge with 79 tackles. The Argos ranked ninth in attendance with 15,109 average fans at BMO Field, which was a 0.1 percent decrease from the previous year.
